First Assistant District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg today announced that the aggravated assault
indictment against Sid Steiner has been dismissed pending further investigation.
Sid Steiner was indicted by a Travis County Grand Jury on July 15, 2008. He was accused of pointing
a gun at another driver after a traffic accident on December 17, 2007.
The District Attorney's Office recently received information that Sid Steiner may have been misidentified.
Austin police and the District Attorney's Office will continue to investigate the identity of the persons
involved and certain facts surrounding the incident which are disputed.
The review of the incident will determine whether the case will be re-presented to the Grand Jury.
